             abstract = "The technological advance has made remote sensing develop quite a 
                         lot in recent years, allowing the production of more quantity and 
                         quality of orbital images of the whole planet Earth, with lower 
                         costs and better spatial resolution. Thus, the present work aimed 
                         to check the situation of urban real estate construction in the 
                         municipality of Dois Vizinhos/PR, when compared to Google Earth® 
                         images. In order to obtain such a response, a pilot area of the 
                         city, a block, was determined, and it was sought to know as much 
                         as possible about it through detailed information, especially 
                         maps, obtained from the city that provided such support. These 
                         data were analyzed and compared with what was obtained by Google 
                         Earth® images. The procedure went through several stages of image 
                         editing with the use of two other software, AutoCad® and Global 
                         Mapper®, with overlapping images among other procedures. The 
                         georeferencing of the images that were in the collection of the 
                         city hall and the orbital images showed that only lot 15 of block 
                         04 had construction alteration without registration with the city 
                         hall. This enlargement in the building that happened in this lot 
                         was approximately 84 m2. This shows the viability of the used 
                         method, since if carried out throughout the city it could 
                         demonstrate what is happening in terms of omission or changes in 
                         land and buildings.",
